Get out a pen

Get out a pen and mark one off.   I finished the Lady bug quilt.  Here it is
This quilt was blast for me. I was challenged by this quilt because I had never done any applique and I don't know that you can call this applique.  I tried some different things with my basting.  I put a lot more pins in and I used hairspray.  It did great, and did not gum up my machine.  Now for the stitching.

I had so much fun with the colors that I had to make more baby things. 
It really brought back memories of when my girls were little.  Man how time just passes by so quickly.  

Mark one off!!!!

I have completed Kenzie's quilt.  I had so much fun with the quilt.  I love the colors, they make me feel carefree and fun spirited.  My friend Wade (Kenzie's grandfather) is going to see Kenzie this weekend.  I was so glad that the quilt was done and he could take it with him. A little proud of myself I guess.  I know pictures.  I hope they turned out well enough to see.  The color is purple and it look more like blue in the pic.  I will try to show you some of the stitches.  I thought I was a big girl and could free hand butterflies.  They turned out ok.... I guess I just wanted it to be perfect because the quilt is for such a special little girl.     This picture doesn't even have the butterfly in it.  This is my binding.  I love striped binding, that and pieced binding. 

Well that is Kenzie's quilt and I hope she enjoys it and knows that she is a special little girl. 

Quilts

Both of these are throws that I made for my living room. They are very different in style and stitching but I love them both all the same!!!!   And now for the back..... my favorite backs are pieced together.  I very seldom have a solid back.  Ok! I will show you some of the stitching, but remember I am new to quilting and free motion stitching.  I love free motion.  I love seeing what I can create and if I can actually do it.  I just wish I could figure out to prevent puckers..... I guess the only way would be a long arm quilter.  could you imagine that would be my dream come true.  don't laugh

and now the borders....

Most of the decorations in my home is western.  So this fits in just fine.  Some of the fabric on this is from my little girls clothes.

this quilt was for my oldest daughter Bailey. She picked out all the fabric and pattern.  It is always interesting to me to see how other people put fabric combos together.   

All of the stitching on this quilt is hearts in some way or fashion.

I hope you all enjoy looking at the quilts as much as I enjoyed making them.  I can't make them fast enough.
